What kind of dog do I need to join the club?

• Any kind of dog can join! It's helpful to have a dog that is motivated by toys or food to make the training fun and engaging.​

Do I have to be there every Saturday?

• To progress your training, it's good to be there on every Club Day as that's our opportunity to train together and get help from other club members or the training director. ​

Are there club dues?

• Yes. Dues are $250 annually for an individual membership, Family Membership (two handlers living in the same residence) annual dues are $500.00 per year dues for each additional family member living at the same address are $75.00. Dues are payable by September 1 each year and due on September 1 of each year. Prospective members who begin a probationary period after March 1st are assessed ½ (one half) of the annual dues upon joining as a permanent member.

Do I need to be a member of GSDCA to participate?

• Yes. A current GSDCA membership card will be required to join. To join GSDCA, check out their website at www.gsdca.org

What kind of equipment do I need to participate?

• At a minimum, you'll need a collar, a leash, and a toy your dog likes. Once you start training, you may find that you need other equipment like a harness. ​

Does this training help me with AKC-style sports – like Rally or Obedience?

• The focus of Howlhunde Sport club is on IGP training. But the Obedience training can help you with AKC-style sports. But be aware that there can be subtle but important differences between the two, and it will be your responsibility to understand the requirements of any other sports organization.​
