Article I – Name & Purpose
The name of this Dog Club shall be HOWL HUNDESPORT CLUB.
Purpose: To promote responsible dog ownership, provide training and education, support canine sports (tracking, obedience, protection, etc.), and foster community engagement.
Article II – Membership
1. Eligibility: Open to all individuals interested in dogs and dog training.
2. Types of Membership:
Dues:
Individual Membership annual dues are $250.00 per year and every September 1st thereafter.
Family Membership (Two handlers living in the same residence) annual dues are $500.00 per year and every September 1st thereafter. Dues for each additional family member living at the same address are $75.00
Guest Fees: Non-members of the Club -guest training may be arranged by the Training Director. A basic fee of $30.00 will be assessed, and this training must be done after all of the attending members have trained.
Membership dues are payable prior to the start of the year, before September 1st. A photocopy of a current GSDCA membership card showing the expiration date shall be included when membership dues are paid. Prospective members who begin a probationary period after March 1st are assessed ½ (one half) of the annual dues upon joining as a permanent member
All members and volunteers must sign the Waiver of Liability Form. All active members must participate in at least one event per year, either as a volunteer for support activities such as meal provision, registration, etc., or as a participant in the event with one of their dogs.
Termination: Membership may be revoked for nonpayment, misconduct, or actions against the club’s purpose.
Article III – Meetings
General Membership Meetings: At least quarterly.
Board Meetings: As needed, called by the President.
Quorum: [Example: 25% of active members].
Voting: Simple majority, unless bylaws require otherwise.
Article IV – Officers & Board
Officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Training Director
Board of Directors: Officers plus 2 members-at-large.
Duties:
-- President – preside, represent club.
-- Vice President – assist and step in when needed.
-- Secretary – keep minutes, correspondence.
-- Treasurer – maintain finances, dues, reporting
-- Training Director - Plan, organize and supervise all club training sessions
4. Elections: Held annually, by secret ballot.
Article VI – Finances
· Fiscal year: [September 1 – August 31]
· All expenditures must be approved by the Board or membership.
· Treasurer provides reports at meetings.
Article VII – Code of Conduct
· Members must follow humane training practices.
· Dogs must be properly cared for, vaccinated, and under control.
· Members represent the club in a respectful, sportsmanlike manner.
Article VIII – Amendments
· Bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of members present at a general meeting, provided notice is given at least 30 days prior
